Short answer: CCS Plus (formerly CCS, Customer Care System) is a salon management system developed by Vital Design Sdn Bhd. We took on our first beauty-industry consulting job in 2003, began building our own system in 2004, and have updated it with new tools and features every quarter since. We serve beauty salons, spas, hair salons and nail studios in Malaysia and Singapore. Our founder is Dr. Dave Tan.
A job that didn't look like business
In 2003, at an unusual occasion, we met a single mother who ran a small beauty salon while raising two daughters. She said she wanted a consultant to help her plan.
We didn't take it seriously. We had only just met, and it might have been politeness. Most of our consulting clients then were listed companies, and our fee was about a month of her sales. We had never taken on a job that small.
A month later she called again and asked to meet. That was when we took it on properly. It was our first beauty-industry case.
She wanted two things
Her goal was clear: a business that does well, and an owner with more time.
We studied her business and how beauty customers spend, and looked for a system that suited her. But most salon systems in Malaysia at the time came from overseas and didn't fit a small salon like hers.
So we rolled up our sleeves and built one ourselves.
From 2004 to today
That system, written for one small salon, was the beginning of CCS. From 2004 to today we have released new tools and features every quarter. CCS Plus keeps the same business logic, rebuilt as a cloud system for phone, tablet and computer.
